Deleting your FieldEco account will permanently remove all your data, including projects, observations, photos, and audio recordings. This action cannot be undone and your data cannot be recovered.

1. Delete via the FieldEco App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the FieldEco app:
1 Open the FieldEco app
2 Go to Settings → Account
3 Tap Delete Account
4 Review the data that will be deleted
5 Type DELETE to confirm
Your account and all associated data will be immediately queued for permanent deletion.
2. Delete via Email Request
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
Send an email to:
support@fieldeco.appInclude the following information:
- Subject: Account Deletion Request
- Email address associated with your FieldEco account
- Full name on your account (for verification)
- Reason for deletion (optional, helps us improve)
We will verify your identity and process your request within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
3. What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:

| Account Information | Email address, name, profile photo, user preferences, settings |
| Projects | All research projects, project settings, and metadata |
| Observations | Checklists, transects, quadrats, point counts, phenology records, trap monitoring data |
| Media Files | All photos and audio recordings (both local references and cloud copies) |
| Location Data | GPS coordinates, waypoints, tracks, and reverse-geocoded addresses |
| Environmental Data | Weather observations, sensor readings, and field measurements |
| Subscription Data | Subscription status, entitlements, and device registrations |
4. What May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained for limited periods due to legal, security, or operational requirements:

5. Deletion Timeline
Account access revoked
You will be signed out and unable to log back in
Primary data deletion
Account info, projects, observations removed from active database
Media file deletion
Photos and audio recordings permanently removed from cloud storage
Backup purge complete
All data removed from backup systems
6. Before You Delete
Consider these options before permanently deleting your account:
Export Your Data
You can export your projects and observations before deletion:
- Open a project in the app
- Go to Export in the project menu
- Choose your export format (Excel, CSV)
- Save to your device or share via email
Alternative: Sign Out Instead
If you just want to stop using FieldEco temporarily, you can simply sign out without deleting your account. Your data will remain safely stored and you can sign back in anytime.
